What stood out most for me was that part when Dr. Walter played the piano. I have a grandmother with Alzheimer's so that hit home for me. It's just so sad.

The names of the characters were odd.

I like that real estate is a spectator sport in NYC.

I like the way narrator could imagine herself living in the apartment.

What stood out for me was the inheritance from his mom to help buy the apt. because I had an inheritance from my mom as well which helped me to buy my first condo. Just felt a little deja vu I guess. sounds like a great book!

I like how she described the view of the water from the apartment and how it made her feel. It seemed that it was then, after seeing the view, that from that point on she liked the apartment. Her opinion changed.

Wow! I didn't want to stop reading......more .......MORE!!! I felt myself looking through the appartment, feeling the dust on my hands, smelling the urine, listening to the sound of Chopin tinkling on the out of tune piano, and holding my breath until Dr. Walter sank bank into her wheelchair. Wow again! I MUST read this book! Thanks for the chance!

I felt I was right there with the narrator as she imagined herself living in this apartment, especially knowing in the office she would have, her 20 year old manuscript would become a published book.
Also having practiced real estate myself, when the economy was worse than it is now, 08-09 I can relate to Horton.

I love the description of the fast paced life of New York and the real estate market. The idea that you have to be like a cougar, see it, want it, get it or it will be gone! This seems like the kind of thing most people would want to think about, but the different world of New York begs otherwise apparently!

My family just moved into a new house so the entire real estate backdrop of this novel appeals to me. I know the feeling of getting caught up in the search and trying to imagine life in a new space. I've also read several books about Alzheimer's the past couple of years so that tie-in is intriguing to me as well.

Read Little Pink Slips a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I'd love to win With Friends Like These. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.
