"It's a doggy dog world" and we have a giveaway to prove it!

By Amy Bromberg

**Giveaway is now closed**

To quote from one of my favorite shows, "Modern Family," Gloria likes to say "It's a doggy dog world" instead of "It's a dog-eat-dog world." "That doesn't make any sense. Who wants to live in a world where dogs eat each other? "Doggy Dog World" is a beautiful world of little puppies!" And Trixie and Peanut in New York City caters to all the "doggy dogs" in the world.

I had such an awesome time at Wade Rouse’s book signing for “I’m Not the Biggest Bitch in This Relationship” on Wednesday, September 7th at Trixie and Peanut.

So...you might be asking how I found out about this event. Why, on Jen Lancaster’s Facebook wall, of course!! Jen Lancaster is one of 20 in a group, authors, comedians, and actors, who have contributed to this hilarious collection of essays, on what living with and loving a dog means to them. Ready for a huge chick lit line up of authors? Here we go: Allie Larkin, Jenny Gardiner, Caprice Crane, Jane Green, Beth Harbison, Sarah Pekkanen, Beth Kendrick and, of course, Jen Lancaster. In addition to meeting Wade Rouse, I had the pleasure of meeting Caprice Crane, Jenny Gardiner and Jane Green.

I was a few feet away from Trixie and Peanut when all of a sudden I saw Caprice Crane. Once I knew it was her, I screamed “Caprice Crane?” I can’t tell you how excited I was. Unfortunately, she was leaving, but of course I asked if I could get a picture.

Trixie and Peanut is such an adorable and chic dog boutique. Any dog lover would go bananas.

I also met the lovely Jenny Gardiner. Besides being a dog lover, I learned that she lives in Virginia and she’s currently looking at colleges for her oldest.

It was an honor to meet and speak with the fabulous Jane Green. She is such a sweet heart. When I told her I was with Chick Lit Central, she said how we are an awesome group to work with.

And last, but definitely not least, I met Wade Rouse. Just from talking to him for only a few minutes I was able to tell his love for dogs, as well as his enthusiasm and passion for this book. We chatted about how I love chick lit, and that I’m part of CLC, and we would love to have him as a guest...STAY TUNED!!

Finally, here's a group picture.

Thanks to Kaitlyn Kennedy at Penguin Group, we have two copies of "I’m Not the Biggest Bitch in This Relationship" to give to some lucky readers in the US.

I have SASSY who makes my soul whole! We rescued, or rather she rescued us nearly two months ago. She's our lil' Shih tzu who completes our family.

I belong to Wade's FB page & CLC.

I loved reading this post, Amy. I wish I could have been there. I'm sure I would have purchased all kinds of goodies for SASSY.

First off: OMG YOU MET JANE GREEN!!!
Okay, got that out of my system! I do have a dog who I adopted and I simply adore her!! I think we all know how great it is when a dog greets us with such enthusiasm, but I think I out-do her with my excitement to see her every time! She is a sweetheart!

I can't leave without a dog so my latest rescue is Malcolm--not sure what he is but he sure is a protector of our home:" We also have 2 cats, Oreo and Penelope ( named after my sons favorite cookie and the sea turtle we released to the Ocean while vacationing in Mazatlan)--we are a pet family and always will be:)

I live in a house full of dogs and other pets. My dog is a 10 y/o min pin named Puppy who is laying here next to me right now. He keeps me active. I have heart problems so the fact that he makes me walk two miles every day is wonderful for me.

I can't resist a book with a dog on the cover or a title like this.

I have 3 dogs and they're all shelter dogs. My motto is Don't Shop! Adopt!
They mean the world to me because they are my heart . . . they are my kids with 2 extra feet. I think the John Grogan said it best in Marley and Me -
"A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes. Status symbol means nothing to him. A waterlogged stick will do just fine. A dog judges others not by their color or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog doesn't care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his. It was really quite simple, and yet we humans, so much wiser and more sophisticated, have always had trouble figuring out what really counts and what does not. As I wrote that farewell column to Marley, I realized it was all right there in front of us, if only we opened our eyes. Sometimes it took a dog with bad breath, worse manners, and pure intentions to help us see."

God bless u Cindy for rescuing. So many pets need homes. I'm glad you enjoyed the post :)

Nina, you are too funny. Jane is such a warm and wonderful person. And you too, bless u for adopting a dog. Its b/c of our landlord not allowing dogs that we don't have a dog :(

WOW god bless all of you who have rescued :)
