My favorite bakery item has to be the time I made my nephew Kermit the Frog cupcakes! They were so easy, but looked like the took a lot of work. ;) That's my favorite kind! Hahaha. :P

I was trying to make brownies, but the pan I used was too large and since we didn't have vegetable oil, I ended up replacing it with olive oil. Both were really bad ideas. The end result was something that looked disgusting, had the consistency of a fruit roll up, but tasted delicious. In the end it was a number of good lessons learned and since they weren't visually appealing brownies, I got to eat them all! :)

I don't bake, so any story would probably be hilarious, but my favorite baked treats are Red Velvet Cupcakes...love 'em! Thankfully, there are several independent locally bakeries that provide me with this delicious treat.

One time I baked a simple batch of chocolate chip cookies. Simple and delicious, right? Not so when you find that you added salt in place of the sugar. Blech!

When I was baking brownies for an event at my daughter's school I forgot the eggs and then tried to add them after I started baking the brownies. It looked like scrambled eggs and mud.

I was baking pie crust and accidentally put 4 times the amount of water required! The result: 4 pie crusts and 4 pies instead of one!

I baked a cake for my dad's birthday once and it looked beautiful. Went to carry it into the living room, making a grand entrance. I proceeded to dump the cake upside down on the kitchen floor before I even got out of the room. Oh, well, he didn't like cake anyway.

Besides reading, baking is my favorite hobby! No funny stories, although one time while my daughter was helping me bake (she was 2 at the time) I let her crack an egg, and of course it ended up on the floor instead of in the bowl :). And my favorite treat is Magnolia Bakery red velvet cupcakes. (Which I can now make at home for a fraction of the cost with their cookbook! And they are just as delicious!)

I already have the book and I don't bake but thought I'd post a favorite silver screen baking moment.
"Raw Deal", 1986 starred Arnold Schwarteneger as a disgraced FBI agent sent to live in a pokey little southern town. His wife, played by Blanche Baker, isn't happy there. He is out on duty when she decides to bake a cake while consuming large amounts of alcholic libations. He arrives home to find her in the kitchen working on a lopsided cake which she procedes to throw at him by the handful as she tells him how much she hates her life. His deadpan reply? "You shouldn't drink und bake." It has become a favorite catchphrase at our house when some cooking attempt goes wrong!

A few months ago I baked a Jewish apple cake but didn't use my regular baking pan. The one I used was too small so the top was burnt and the bottom was raw. We ate it anyway!

I made a blueberry pie from scratch once because I love the color and I love blueberries. But none of my family likes blueberry pie (or any kind of berry pie) so I eneded up eating the whole thing myself over the course of a week.
