Books of the Week - August 16th

Thanks for checking out our newest feature...Books of the Week! There are seven of us and we can't keep up with the many review requests we receive, even though we'd love to read everything sent our way. Therefore, we have decided to give some books their time in the spotlight and introduce you to them through this new blog feature. We will be featuring two books a week. We hope you will take the time to check these books out. (Click the titles to find them on Amazon.) If you read them and want to write a guest blogger review for us, please e-mail us and we'll be glad to work with you!

Authors: We will let you know whether or not we'll be able to review your book upon your request, and hope you'll be interested in this feature as an alternative.

"Bare-Naked Lola"
By Melissa Bourbon Ramirez

Going undercover is second nature for Private Investigator Lola Cruz, but she’s out of her league when the case of a murdered Royals Courtside Dancer leads her to a local nudist resort. Parading around the sidelines of Sacramento’s professional basketball scene in a barely-there cheerleading outfit is one thing—but parading around in nothing but smile? If she has any chance of hiding this from her traditional family and on-again/off-again boyfriend Jack, she’s going to have a lot more than her duct tape bra and killer dance moves to keep under wraps...

"Sometimes Ya Gotta Laugh"
By Timothe Davis

Jordan can't commit, Gabby is looking for love, and Chris is having a phallic-crisis. Hilarity and drama ensue as they endeavor to sort out their lives and conquer their personal demons. Friendship is tested but love isn't lost in this serio-comic tale.

Jordan Spencer is thirty-six and hasn't had a relationship that's last more than six months. He's cool with that, though. He's got space issues. And what difference does it make? He's got his best friends, Gabby and Chris, for clubs, parties, and weekend hangouts. But Gabby is falling in love with a guy Jordan doesn't like and Chris … well ... Chris has issues.

Life's a tough journey. But these three best friends will learn that in a world of sex, lies, and drag queens, Sometimes Ya Gotta Laugh.
