Guest Book Review: eloves me, eloves me not

By Marlene Engel

At 39 years old, Kayte has a good job as the Vice President of Marketing, a cute house, but no one to come home to … unless you count her loyal, furry companion, Dylan. Ever since the man she thought she would spend the rest of her life with, Simon, broke up with her four years prior, Kayte has been single. Kayte, who is otherwise optimistic, happy and naturally romantic, has become skeptical that she would never find true love. In the past she would reluctantly agree to be set up on dates only to be disappointed with the outcome. Agreeing to one last blind date, Kayte experienced the date to end all dates … aka, Roger! At first glance he appeared to be what Kayte would typically be attracted to with his broad shoulders and muscular arms. Let’s just say that looks can be deceiving. After experiencing the date from hell, she decided that she was done with blind dates. No longer would she agree to going on one. Come to think of it, she just might be done with dating altogether.

While sharing the events of her blind date with her best friend, Chloe, Kayte was made an offer she couldn’t refuse. Chloe introduced Kayte to the wonderful world of online dating. How cool would it be to have scads of single men at your fingertips … literally? With a few strokes of her keyboard she was well on her way to finding love in Cyber Land … or was she? Join Kayte as she goes on her dating journey with some interesting, funny and some downright scary men. Will she find her soul mate? Or will her quest be one big cyber nightmare?

eloves me, eloves me not is the first novel by author, L.A. Johannesson. Working the past 20+ years in the marketing and communications field, Johannesson decided to trade her corporate life for a shot at being an independent novelist. I found her first novel to be a fun, witty read with lots of humor and laughs. The characters were very likable and some that you could really relate to. Kayte and Chloe share a bond that reminds me of the bond that I have with some of my girlfriends. I enjoyed reading this book and found it to be well written and flow easily. My only complaint would be the cost. It’s currently selling for $24.99 for paperback and $9.99 for Kindle on Amazon. Although this was a fun, cute book, I don’t think that the cost fits the content. Overall, I would give this book a FOUR out of FIVE star rating and definitely recommend this book to others.

Thanks to L.A. Johannesson for the e-book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much for your review. I appreciate both your time and feedback on 'eloves me, eloves me not'.
And, the good news is, the cost of the book is being reduced.

In a Google+ hangout and book makeover with authors of APE (Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur- How to Publish a Book), Guy Kawasaki and Shawn Welch commented on the book's price - one of the only challenges they saw with the book was its price.

That's an easy fix. So, as of next week, it will be available in both formats at a lower, more competitive price point.

Thanks again,
LA

That is so wonderful to hear about the cost coming down. That was the only negative I could think of when reviewing the book. :)
