Valerie Frankel is a one of a kind friend and has a book to give away

**Giveaway is now closed**

Since her latest novel, "Four of a Kind" (reviewed here), is about friendship, we thought Valerie Frankel would be the perfect author to feature during "Friendship Month." Valerie Frankel received critical acclaim for her bestselling memoirs, "Thin Is the New Happy" and "It’s Hard Not to Hate You." She is the author of fifteen novels, including "The Accidental Virgin," and is a journalist much in demand. Her writing has appeared in O: The Oprah Magazine, Allure, Self, Good Housekeeping and The New York Times, among others. She lives in Brooklyn Heights with her two daughters, four cats, and husband, opera singer Stephen Quint.

Thanks to Random House, we have TWO copies of "Four of a Kind" to give away to some lucky US readers.

You can visit Valerie at her website, as well as Facebook and Twitter.

Favorite TV show about friendship:
I loved Sex and the City for the fantasy version of female friendship—as well as sex, clothes, careers, New York City, etc. For reality based TV friendship? Can’t find it anywhere.

Favorite book about friendship:
Harry Potter series.

Chick lit main character you'd want to be best friends with:
Bridget Jones would be a lot of fun to hang out with.

Favorite memory shared with your best friend:
A recent memory of a moment that brought up memories of a million moments: I walked my 16-year-old daughter over to my BFF’s house to babysit her seven- and eight-year old sons. My BFF and I met long before either of us had even met the fathers of our children. We watched my teenager lead her sons over to the couch to read a book. We looked at each other, and I saw our 20+ year friendship flash before my eyes, including births, deaths, laughs, talks, downtown adventures, backyard adventures, movies, books, boyfriends. Our long, old friendship had brought us here, and we were passing it along to the next generation.

Strangest way you made a friend:
On Twitter.

Three words to describe your best friend:
As she once described herself: “perky yet morose.” (She’s a writer, too.)

Who would play your best friend in the movie of your life:
Emma Stone (aged appropriately)

Celebrity you’d like to have as your best friend:
Kathy Griffin.

Favorite destination for a girls weekend/trip:
I made a couple of trips to Atlantic City with friends recently, and we had a blast.

What do you enjoy doing with friends the most?
Since it’s pretty much all we do, talking and eating.

Special thanks to Valerie for talking about friendship with us and to Random House for sharing "Four of a Kind" with our readers.

1. Please tell us: What is your favorite TV show about friendship?

Friends (reflex response!)
I watched it since I was a child but reruns now still make me laugh (I guess now I finally know what's going on). I love Joey!

and of course How I Met Your Mother
They are like the best group of friends either, even if they do bet on each other's misery. XD

I have to go with Grey's Anatomy, Meredith and Cristina have one of the best, strongest friendships of any fictional characters out there. From literally saving each others lives, to being called the "Twisted Sisters" to refering to one another as soulmates, those two are the definition of best friends.

I'm a follower and group member! :)

PS.. I love the cover of this book!!
