My Vietnam war "story" is actually my dad's. We are Canadian. IF he had been in the US, he would have been drafted as his birthday was number 2 in the draft. He said it still haunts him thinking of what could have been.
I had friends who fought in Vietnam.

I remember watching the TV show China Beach.
We were living in Canada and read everything about Vietnam.
There is nothing good to remember about the Vietnam War. Mash was a good TV show set in that era.
For movies I've seen Rescue Dawn. For TV, This Is Us had a storyline in the third season about Vietnam.
Whatever I learned was from the tv show M*A*S*H*
To be honest, I don't know much about Vietnam War, just remember that it ended in mid 1970s when I was a teenager, and then slowly picked up the history of this war as I grew up through some of movies such as Good Morning, Vietnam starred by Robin Williams - he's one of my favorite - it had piqued my interest about Vietnam War, and then I learned some more. I also enjoyed Forrest Gump very much with two of my favorite actors Tom Hanks and Gary Sinise!
I don't really know anything about the Vietnam War and I haven't watched any TV series or movies about it either. Perhaps this book would be a good place to start.

Quite sure there is nothing to like.
I don’t know much about the Vietnam War, except about the memorial. Maya Lin, a Yale student, designed the memorial, and I have had the privilege of seeing it twice in Washington, D.C.
The only thing I know I learned in school or from tv.
Tour Of Duty is a great TV series set in Vietnam.
I liked Robin Williams' Good Morning Vietnam. I also know that a boy that my mom liked in high school lost his life in Vietnam. And one of my best friend's Dad was a pilot in Vietnam.
My husband's birthday was #1 in the draft pick. He had enlisted in the Navy about 6 months before. He did end up offshore in Vietnam.
