Double Feature Spotlight and Giveaway

Today we are celebrating the pub day of two new rom coms by debut authors: The Lifestyle by Taylor Hahn and A Proposal They Can't Refuse by Natalie Caña. Thanks to BookSparks and Harlequin, we have TWO copies of each novel for some lucky readers!

Georgina Wagman has it all—a great marriage, a great job at a prestigious law firm, and great friends. She’s living the life she always wanted, and everything is perfect. Until, that is, she walks in on her husband Nathan in a compromising position with a junior associate. Georgina has a moment of crisis. But divorce is not a part of the five-year plan, so she comes up with an idea to save her marriage and recapture the spark. She and Nathan are going to become swingers.

Georgina isn’t going to embark on this adventure alone, though. Her friends Felix and Norah and their respective partners decide to tag along for the ride. They’ve got relationship woes of their own that swinging just might fix. Georgina, convinced Felix and Norah belong together, is thrilled. What better place to reignite romance between two people destined to be together than a swingers’ party? Her plan is foolproof, until she runs into a college ex at the first party. When they reconnect, Georgina will find herself torn between her head and her heart, with her very happiness hanging in the balance. Perfect for fans of Jennifer Weiner and Sophie Kinsella, The Lifestyle is a playful homage to Jane Austen's Emma Woodhouse and an outrageously fun summer read. (Synopsis courtesy of Amazon.)

“Sexy and insightful, THE LIFESTYLE is both a playful and intimate exploration of marriage, commitment, so-called perfection and getting the happily ever after you never anticipated.”
—Allison Winn Scotch, bestselling author of Cleo McDougal Regrets Nothing

“This book is fun as hell. Hilarious, addictive, moving, and sexy. I lost track of time reading it, and I couldn’t get enough!”
—Jasmine Guillory, bestselling author of While We Were Dating

Taylor Hahn is a writer and lawyer based in Los Angeles. She is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and Fordham University School of Law. THE LIFESTYLE is her first novel.

Kamilah Vega is desperate to convince her family to update their Puerto Rican restaurant and enter it into the Fall Foodie Tour. With the gentrification of their Chicago neighborhood, it's the only way to save the place. The fly in her mofongo—her blackmailing abuelo says if she wants to change anything in his restaurant, she'll have to marry the one man she can't stand: his best friend’s grandson.

Liam Kane spent a decade working to turn his family’s distillery into a contender. But just as he and his grandfather are on the verge of winning a national competition, Granda hits him with a one-two punch: he has cancer and has his heart set on seeing Liam married before it’s too late. And Granda knows just the girl…Kamilah Vega.

If they refuse, their grandfathers will sell the building that houses both their businesses. With their futures on the line, Kamilah and Liam plan to outfox the devious duo, faking an engagement until they both get what they want. But soon, they find themselves tangled up in more than either of them bargained for. (Synopsis courtesy of Amazon.)

“An utterly charming romance that pays homage to the importance of culture, family, and friendship, A Proposal They Can’t Refuse is a surefire winner!”
—Mia Sosa, USA Today bestselling author of The Worst Best Man

“This book bursts with humor, heat, love, and family! Caña’s characters leap off the page and into your heart. A Proposal They Can’t Refuse delivers a happily ever after where familia, food, and finding what was under our nose the whole time are at the core of the story. Natalie Caña’s debut will leave you smiling, hungry, and eager to read her next book!”
—Denise Williams, bestselling author of How to Fail at Flirting

Natalie Caña writes contemporary romances that allow her to incorporate her witty sense of humor and her love for her culture (Puertominican whoop whoop!) for heroines and heroes like her. A PROPOSAL THEY CAN'T REFUSE is her debut novel.

A favorite restaurant of mine that closed down was called Chi Chi's. It was a Mexican restaurant and they had the best rice and beans, seafood enchiladas with a white cream sauce and the most delicious fried ice cream. Mmmm. Brings back many good memories.

We used to have an East Side Mario's in our small town. (Kind of like Olive Garden). But it closed and I do miss it after all these years. Also wish they hadn't gotten rid of Baskin Robbins. Our town is suffering for business.

We had many of our fave restaurants close over the years! Probably saddest for us was when our favorite local Italian restaurant closed; the owners retired & their sons didn't want to continue the restaurant. Also sad for us was when a local Melting Pot franchise closed.

It was a local diner that I used to enjoy going to but after some employees left or got sick & with the economy/virus, it just couldn't survive unfortunately.
