We're thrilled to have Emily Liebert back at CLC to celebrate the publication of her latest novel, Pretty Revenge. Melissa A couldn't put it down! (See her review.) Although we haven't met Emily in person yet, we feel like we know her that way just from how friendly she is online. Thanks to Gallery, we have one copy of Pretty Revenge for a lucky reader!

Emily is the author of four other novels: YOU KNEW ME WHEN (2013), WHEN WE FALL (2014), THOSE SECRETS WE KEEP (2015), and SOME WOMEN (2016), all with Penguin Random House.

She’s been featured often in the press, by outlets such as: Today Show, The Rachael Ray Show, Anderson Cooper, FOX News, Good Day New York, Oprah Radio, Martha Stewart Radio, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, InStyle, People StyleWatch, Good Housekeeping, OK!, Nylon, Woman’s World, WWD, Woman’s Day, The New York Post, The Washington Post, The New York Daily News, The Chicago Tribune, Boston Herald, People.com, and The Huffington Post.

Synopsis:
Kerrie O’Malley, jobless and in an unfulfilling relationship, can isolate the singular moment in her life when things veered off course—the night she was irrevocably wronged by someone she looked up to. Eighteen years later, when Kerrie sees the very woman who destroyed her life on television, a fire ignites inside her. The stakes are high. The risks are perilous. But she’ll stop at nothing to achieve the retribution she deserves.

Jordana Pierson is a gilded New Yorker who appears to have it all: wealth, glamour, a successful and handsome husband, and a thriving wedding concierge business. Her record is spotless. Her business is flourishing. No one knows the truth about her and the dark shadows of her past.

No one, that is, except Kerrie.

Exploring just how far someone will go for vengeance, Pretty Revenge is a riveting, compulsively readable novel bursting with twists and turns and plenty of suspense.

What is a favorite compliment you have received on your writing?
That it’s funny. Stand-up comedy is a big bucket list item for me. I have serious respect for people who can get up on stage and be completely vulnerable in that way.

Which authors have been inspirational to you?
The ones who have stayed the course and also support other authors. Jane Green, Emily Giffin, Elin Hilderbrand, and Sarah Pekkanen, to name a few.

If Pretty Revenge were made into a movie, what are some songs that would be on the soundtrack?
“Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen. Not only is it one of my favorite songs, but it fits very nicely with the theme of the book. “Lightning Crashes” by Live, because it is my favorite song. And “Arthur’s Theme” by Christopher Cross (When you get caught between the moon and New York City) for a very specific scene toward the end.

What is the last movie you saw that you would recommend?
I don’t watch movies. I can’t sit for that long without talking.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Entitlement.

How will you be celebrating the 4th of July this year?
Since Pretty Revenge is out today, I’d like to think with major book sales! Also, we’ll be on our boat with friends.

Thanks to Emily for chatting with us and Gallery for sharing her book with our readers.

I believe I have gotten the "revenge" I needed by finding a wonderful, loving man and having a beautiful family and living a good life despite the challenges of my childhood.

I didn't have to get "revenge", it came about on it's own. The wrong that was done to me, was also done to him, plus my life got a lot better and I'm not sure about his.

What makes me feel pretty is going to the hair dresser and getting a hair cut and style. I have never taken revenge on anyone. Thanks for this amazing chance.

I am not a vengeful person. I don't ever feel pretty either. Just OK.

I’m not a vengeful person....I guess I feel pretty when my hair is long and blonde from the salon! It hasn’t been like that for a loooong time though

What makes me feel pretty? When I take time to do my hair and makeup. I love fashion so putting together an out fit makes me smile as well.

Love to paint my nails and creating designs on them.
