Our recent feature is "Blogs of the Week." Each week, we feature a reader blog (which has to be sent to us) and an author blog (which can either be sent to us, or we'll pick one at random). Please check out the blogs we are sharing. We're sure the bloggers would love some friendly comments on their posts or a follow.
To have your blog featured for a future shout out, please e-mail us. The blogs can be anything: personal, book themed or something else you're interested in that you write about (movies, fashion, pets, career, etc.)
Women's Lit Book Club
Steven Watson (a.k.a. The Chick Lit Guy) is a student teacher, writer, avid reader and a happily married man who likes to read and write about women's fiction. He is a self-identified feminist, and his critical approach is a combination of feminist and psychological criticism. If you are an "authoress" and are interested in having him review your book, please contact him through his blog. For 2012, he started a book club with the writer Michelle Haimoff. Contact him if you want to join the club.
Gemma Burgess is the author of two fiction novels, THE DATING DETOX(2010) and A GIRL LIKE YOU (2011), both published by HarperCollins UK and both acclaimed as 'edgy anti-romantic comedy.' She's currently writing the first of a New Adult fiction series called UNION STREET, about five girls sharing a house in Brooklyn after graduating college. She has written a pilot, THE CHANCES, and has several other screenwriting projects currently being tweaked and finished.
Prior to writing novels and screenplays, Gemma was a creative copywriter in advertising in London for ten years, working with Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy, among others. She has a triple degree in English Literature, History and Theatre, and a post-graduate degree in Journalism. Gemma grew up in Singapore and Hong Kong and is currently in the process of acquiring a US visa. She recently became a mother for the first time, to an adorable baby boy.
