Poppy has been living alone for the past year, but when she discovers that her best friend, Jazz, is in debt they decide to switch lives for a bit. Jazz will move into Poppy’s place, lay low from her partying ways and try to put some money away. And Poppy will stay in Jazz’s house, with her roommates, and live a carefree, partying lifestyle. This will be a stretch for Poppy who has not only lived alone since her breakup, but is also a bit of a recluse.
Poppy and her new roommates couldn’t be any more different, but it’s the one roommate, Ryan, that throws Poppy for a loop. Moody, grumpy, but gorgeous, Ryan and Poppy do have potential for some sparks. But just when you think they might get together, there’s always something to deflate the possibility.
The Debt & The Doormat is a fun, funny, unpredictable book. One minute you’ll think something’s going to happen and then in a flash it changes. I love funny books and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. The characters had me in stitches and the story held my attention from the beginning. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves chick lit!
