Giveaway: May and June Books We're Looking Forward to Reading

We're starting a new series at the blog. Every two months, we'll feature EIGHT books we're interested in checking out. (We know there are many, many more, but we're just highlighting a few that haven't received their time in the spotlight yet.) Here are the books we've chosen for May and June. There is one copy of each book available to give away and we will choose FOUR winners to each receive TWO books at random (one from May and one from June).


May:

Not Working by Lisa Owens (May 3rd)

This sounds like a refreshing story and it has been endorsed as humorous. Who doesn't need to laugh sometimes?!?

Melissa A. read Losing Clementine a few years ago and it really stuck with her, so she's excited to check out Ashley Ream's sophomore novel, which has an intriguing premise.

Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler
(May 24th)

Written by someone with food industry experience, we know this book is going to make us hungry, but leave us satisfied. We've heard lots of buzz about it on social media and it has made many "must read" lists for the summer!

June:

The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell (June 7th)

From Jami: My mother recommended I read Lisa Jewell's The House We Grew Up In, and although the subject of hoarding wasn't one I'm usually drawn to, the story was as compelling as any mystery. That's why I'm so excited about Jewell's new book, The Girls in the Garden. The plot offers an actual mystery, as a 13-year-old is attacked in the middle of an idyllic, well-to-do neighborhood. It's being compared to Liane Moriarty's work, mixing mystery and women's fiction tropes. I love both these genres, and I can't wait!

The Tumbling Turner Sisters by Juliette Fay (June 14th)

Amy loved Juliette's previous novels and we've been told this appeals to fans of Orphan Train, which Amy and Melissa A. definitely enjoyed.

Here's to Us by Elin Hilderbrand (June 14th)

Amy and Melissa S. are both fans of Elin's books, so they're looking forward to her latest novel, which will undoubtedly take place in idyllic Nantucket, making for a great summer read!

A Certain Age by Beatriz Williams (June 28)

Amy is a fan of Beatriz Williams and Melissa S. is a fan of the 1920s. This book appeals to them both, and the cover is absolutely stunning. It's already receiving a lot of five-star ratings and will definitely interest fans of The Great Gatsby.
